Chicago’s Sustainable Backyards Program is in full swing for 2012 and wants to help you create a more environmentally-friendly landscape in your yard. An educational and incentive program that highlights the many ways Chicago residents can improve their backyards, the CSBP helps Chicagoans install rain barrels, compost bins, purchase native trees and plants, and provides workshops that cover the ins and outs of sustainable landscaping. Chicago residents can receive up to 50% off their local purchase of backyard items through rebates! The next Sustainable Backyard Workshop is next Tuesday June 12th from 6-8pm at the Chicago Center for Green Technology. Learn more on the City of Chicago website and register for the workshop here!

About Little Bits

Our goal is to provide locals with healthy, earth-friendly content in a fresh and simple way. We’ll do the research for you and share all the local “green” info we can find, including: restaurants, products & technology, local shopping, fun events, great ways to give, quick tips and more. We understand that it’s practically impossible to live in a modern society and not leave an environmental impact, but we believe that we can all change something to make it better. Let us be your resource for a more nourishing relationship with your mind, body and earth – even if it’s only a little bit at a time!
